Edward Hames III, M.D. Ph.D.
Biography
Edward Hames, M.D., Ph.D., attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He received his bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of Minnesota. He earned his medical degree and PhD degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, with graduate studies in Neurophysiology. He also completed his residency in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota. He was board certified in 1989.
Dr. Hames holds memberships in committees including the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association (AMA), American Associations of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Minnesota Neuroscience Society, Congress of Neurological Surgery and Hennepin County Medical Society.
Dr. Hames' interests center around:
- skull and cranial base surgeries
- complex spine disorders
- artificial cervical disc replacement.
He currently performs surgery at Abbott Northwestern and Fairview Southdale Hospital. Dr. Hames joined Neurosurgical Associates in 1990.
