Thomas Bergman, M.D.

Biography

Thomas Bergman, M.D., graduated Cum Laude in Biology at Princeton University in 1978.  In 1982, he received his medical degree and completed his residency in 1988 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He was board certified in Neurosurgery in 1991.

Dr. Bergman is an assistant professor in Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School and Chief of Neurosurgery at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). He has been involved with numerous research grants, scientific publications, published abstracts, scientific presentations and published book chapters. Dr. Bergman is a member of multiple national organizations including American Medical Association (AMA), Minnesota Medical Association (MMA), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and the AANS/CNS joint committee of spine and trauma.  He developed and leads the complex spine program at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC).   His major interests include complex traumatic and degenerative spine conditions, head trauma and neurovascular conditions.   

Dr. Bergman performs neurosurgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and HCMC. He joined Neurosurgical Associates in 1988.
