Answers to common neurosurgery spine questions
What do I do if I develop new numbness or weakness?
New numbness or weakness may be a sign of a problem that requires treatment.  If the new symptoms occur during normal office hours please call our office and talk with one our nurse practitioners.  You may be asked to present yourself for an evaluation.  If the new symptoms occur when the office is closed we request that you go to a hospital emergency room (if you have had surgery,  go to the hospital where you had your surgery) so that you can be evaluated.  After seeing you the emergency room physician will develop a plan in conjunction with the neurosurgeon on call for our practice
