Answers to common neurosurgery spine questions
What do I do if I am worried that my incision might be infected or pulling apart?
It is very difficult to evaluate an incision over the phone.  If the problem occurs during normal business hours please call our office to be seen in person.  If the problem occurs during the evening or on a weekend please go to the emergency room of the hospital where your surgery took place for an initial evaluation.  The physician there will contact the Neurosurgeon on call with a report and you will be treated appropriately.  Options may include observation, treatment with antibiotics and surgery.
